20 years ago Grantham Baptist Church sent the Matthews family to
Moorlands Bible College to train for pastoral and missionary work.
They have come home! Ken now leads the GBC team, ably supported by his lovely wife Sue.
They have been privileged to watch their heavenly Father do many wonderful things in Bournemouth,
northern Uganda, South Sudan and even the Forest of Dean, and are full of faith that God will do it all again
here in sleepy Grantham! They believe that their principle role is to equip and mobilise every follower
of Jesus to be a missionary in the place that God has put them.
God has truly blessed them with nine lively grandchildren, and their own sons and daughters are eagerly
following the Lord in their lives. Ken's loves include preaching the gospel and teaching, gathering kingdom-come
prayers, mentoring young leaders and equipping children andyouth to do outstanding things with God.
Sue enjoys travelling overseas to serve the poor, visiting people,
encouraging friends, meeting people as an optometrist and hospitality.
Ken has an agricultural background with the earthy sense of humour and you may hear him laughing before you
catch sight of him! Sue loves making things pretty but has failed to achieve that at the time of writing with Ken.
They look forward together to many years serving the church in Grantham and maintaining their
input to the overseas settings that they have devoted so much of their lives to.
